Makhotso Mohaswa is a Director and Attorney at Mohaswa Teffo Phuroe Attorneys. She studied at the University of South Africa where she completed her LLB degree.
Makhotso specializes in criminal law, as well as labour and employment law. She has vast working experience in criminal proceedings which include bail applications and criminal trial procedures. Her experience further extends to civil litigation, domestic violence and harassment matters, and labour law matters such as, but not limited to, CCMA appearances, disciplinary hearings, grievances, industrial relations and the facilitation of retrenchment processes. She has assisted clients in matters which involve reporting to the Master of the High Court and the administration of deceased estates.
Makhotso is an empath who loves and enjoys working with people. She believes in equality and making justice accessible to everyone.

KARABO TEFFO

Karabo Teffo is a Director and Attorney at Mohaswa Teffo Phuroe Attorneys. She attended the University of the Witwatersrand where she completed her BA (Law & Political Studies) and LLB degrees.
Karabo specializes in labour and employment law, and employee and industrial relations. She has vast experience in advising and representing employers and employees in the private sector across various industries, chairing internal and external disciplinary hearings, grievances, facilitation of retrenchment processes, Section 197 transfer matters, counselling sessions and negotiations with various trade unions, CCMA appearances and various bargaining councils in different sectors of the economy for labour disputes. She has experience in referring and defending review applications, applying for interdicts and defending collective bargaining disputes at the Labour Court. She has assisted in the Labour Unit at the University of Witwatersrand Law Clinic. She has further appeared in the Magistrates’ Courts for various matters which include debt collection for large financial institutions, automatic rent interdicts for commercial leasing agreements, family law disputes including divorces and maintenance matters, and has handled matters with the Master of the High Court including but not limited to reporting of deceased estates and registering of trusts.
Karabo’s interest is in people. She deems her purpose to be establishing a career committed to uphold and utilize the full strength of the law to help those in need find solace in our judicial system. Karabo is available and willing to handle all tasks required in order to achieve excellent targets and develop enthusiastic relations.

Karabo Phuroe is a Director, Attorney and Notary at Mohaswa Teffo Phuroe Attorneys (“MTP Attorneys”). She studied at the University of the Witwatersrand where she completed both her BA (Law & International Relations) and LLB degrees.
Karabo specializes in family and divorce law, notarial practice and the administration of deceased estates. Her experience further extends to civil litigation, contractual disputes, criminal law, labour and employment law, tax law and personal injury matters. She has appeared in the Magistrates’ Courts for various matters which included correspondent matters, bail applications, criminal trial procedures, family law matters, and domestic violence and harassment matters, and has also handled matters with the Master of the High Court which include reporting and administering deceased estates. She has also had the opportunity to provide legal assistance and advise to members of the public regarding labour law matters at the Wits Law Clinic.
Karabo’s interests and passion lies with providing legal assistance at a fraction of the cost. She believes in making a difference in people’s lives and adding that “personal touch” in the provision of legal assistance and services.
